Second Strawberry Marshmallow Video Anime Announced - Anime News



Project to follow 2005 TV anime, 2007 video series based on Barasui's manga

In addition to a second ef television anime series, a second Ichigo Mashimaro (Strawberry Marshmallow) original video anime project was announced at the Rondo Robe 2008 event at Tokyo's Shibuya ward. The 2005 television series and the 2007 video series adapted Barasui's slice-of-life manga in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine. The story deals with everyday vignettes in the lives of high school freshman Nobue, her 12-year-old younger sister Chika, and their friends. Tokyopop has been publishing the manga in North America, and Geneon Entertainment (USA) released the television series on DVD.

ToHeart2ad plus Video Series Announced for 2009 - Anime News



Tentatively titled series to follow ToHeart2ad video series.

An advertisement for the second volume of the ToHeart2ad video series has announced ToHeart2ad plus, the tentatively titled video sequel series. Both anime are based on the ToHeart2 romance visual novel software from AQUAPLUS. ToHeart2ad plus is set to begin in 2009. North America's Right Stuf released the To Heart television anime series, which is based on the original visual novel of the same name.

Miyazaki's Upcoming Ponyo Previewed on Japanese TV - Anime News






Anime film to open in Japan on July 19, with American release planned later.

The unofficial GhibliWorld website has posted selected images from a television preview of Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, the next anime film from Studio Ghibli and the acclaimed director Hayao Miyazaki (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away). A different trailer appeared in Japanese theaters last weekend, and the film itself will open in Japan on July 19. Co-producers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park) will be involved in the planned American release.
