Synopsis:
In the year 2040, Tokyo has been rebuilt after the great earthquake and boomers roam the streets. Boomers were meant to be a cheap and efficient alternative to man power, but lately random boomers have gone rogue, and only the Knight Sabers can stop them. Lena, a girl from the country, comes to Tokyo to try and become a knight saber. She meets up with Priss and finds out that she is one of the suit wielding females who protect the people from the boomers. Does she have what it takes?

Review:

YES! 2040 and is the new generation of the Cyberpunk era trying to capitalize the 80s OVA. Pretty much the same stories with only some revamped and semi-rewritten in term of changes, but generally is the same idea as the OVA. I love how the characters still being who they are, but there are subtle changes to all of them to make them different! I also love the semi-updated in music, from old 80s rock/punk rock, to a more 90s punk/pop alternative! The overall updates in graphics, animation, and music all mesh together to give you a non-stop ride of excitement and intrigue! Also the alternative storyline on the outlook of “Boomers” were somewhat better then the previous one in the OVA, especially now that the “Boomers” taken in Human Form. Over all, the music is well done, and good for those who enjoy punk/pop songs. The action is fast & packed full with explosions! Although they do seem short at times but that's because of the "time limit" of the new generation Hard Suits (A kind of battle suit equipped to provide amazing strength and ability to the wearer). Also the twist on how/what the Hard Suits are made of, definitely will throw you off… you'll see how it works in a matter of time. Character developments is fairly well done, and most of the old characterization carried over to the new one from the OVA. And of course, Priss still has her band!

Grade B (plus) - I would highly reccomend this to all cyber-punk fans and anime fans who enjoy watching girls in armour fight as well!
