Divorce Living Together Manga Gets TV Drama & Sequel - Anime News
The 10th issue of Shinchosha's Weekly Comic Bunch magazine has announced on Friday that a television drama adaptation of Cocco Kashiwaya's Divorce Living Together (Rikon Dokyo) comedy manga has been green-lit. The drama will premiere on May 11, while Kashiwaya will launch a manga sequel, tentatively titled Rikon Dokyo 2nd Season, in the 13th issue of the magazine on February 26.
Sadao Abe, the vocalist of the GROUP Tamashii comedy/punk rock band and the star of Maiko Haaaan!!!, will play the husband Ryuji, while Eriko Satoh, the lead actress of the live-action Cutie Honey film and the live-action Densha Otoko television drama, will play the wife Harumi. Despite a happy family life, Ryuji suddenly declares a divorce from Harumi. However, the two end up in an awkward, surreal living arrangement when they are forced to remain under one roof.
The manga launched in Weekly Comic Bunch in 2007 and ran until March of 2008 with two compiled book volumes. Mitsuru Tanabe (GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka) is scripting the television series.
