GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class Anime Reportedly Leaked (Update 2) - Anime News
Satoko Kiyuzuki draws slice-of-life manga about 5 freshmen girls in art class.
The Moon Phase Comments diary reports that a NetMile Research survey has leaked the news of an anime adaptation for Satoko Kiyuzuki's GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class manga. The slice-of-life manga revolves around five freshman girls in a high school art class. The manga has been running in Heiwa Shuppan's Comic Cute! magazine and later in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat since 2004, and two volumes have been compiled and published.
According to the web diary, Hiroaki Sakurai (Di Gi Charat, Kodocha, Cromartie High School) will direct off scripts that will be supervised by Doko Machida (Allison & Lillia, Lucky Star, Tears to Tiara). Atsuko Watanabe (Fight Ippatsu! Juden-chan!!) will reportedly design the characters that AIC will animate. The cast is listed as the following:
Haruka Tomatsu: Kisaragi
Ai Tokunaga: Noda-Miki
Miyuki Sawashiro: Tomokane
Yui Horie: Namiko-san
Kaori Nazuka: Kyoju
Update: Yen Press published the second volume of Kiyuzuki's Shoulder a Coffin, Kuro (Hitsugi Katsugi no Kuro. - Kaichu Tabi no Wa) manga in North America in October.
Update 2: Yen Press announced at Comic-Con International in July that it licensed the rights to the original GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class manga. The first North American volume will ship in April. Thanks, einhorn303.
