Japan Posts Hatsune Miku Video for Phone Recycling - Anime News
The Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) of the Japanese government has posted a music video, featuring illustrations and a song of the virtual idol Hatsune Miku, for a government mobile phone recycling campaign on Thursday. The "Tansu Keitai Atsumetai" campaign began (http://tansu-keitai.jp/) at the end of last year with a song of the same name, which includes the computer-synthesized voice of Hatsune Miku.
Crypton Future Media, the creator of the voice synthesis software package behind Hatsune Miku, collaborated with METI not only on the song, but also on an illustration contest. (Crypton runs (http://piapro.jp/) the Piapro website for user-submitted content.) Out of the 54 illustrations submitted, 8 winners were selected. The resulting music video is now on METI's official channel on the YouTube website.
