Kure-nai Promo, Kunio Kato's Sekisui Heim Ad Posted - Anime News

The official website of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is streaming a 45-second promotional video for the original anime DVD that will ship with the fifth limited-edition volume of Yamato Yamamoto's Kure-nai manga on July 2. The manga itself is an adaptation of Kentaro Katayama's Kure-nai light novel series. The light novel series was previously adapted into a television anime series in 2008.

The Sekisui Heim brand of modular homes is streaming the television commercial that Kunio Kato, the Oscar-winning director of the "La Maison en Petits Cubes" ("Tsumiki no Ie") short, animated. (In the linked website, "flip" the virtual book to the sixth page and play either the video of the 30-second commercial or the 76-second director's cut.) The "Tsuzuki o Kangaeru Monogatari -Haru-" commercial is the first of four seasonal commercials that mark the 40th anniversary of Sekisui Heim. The story centers around a family in a home in the countryside, and it begins one spring day while the daughter is preparing to go off to college in Tokyo. Last year, Kato became the first Japanese person to win an Academy Award in the Best Animated Short Film category.

The official website of the Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin (Occult Academy) anime series has begun streaming the third 15-second television commercial on Monday. The new live-action commercial has Takeharu Mikami, the editor of Gakken's Mu occult magazine, visiting a real-life setting in Nakano City for the anime. The horror and school comedy story of Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin revolves around mystery and supernatural cases at Occult Academy, a fortress-like academy city. A-1 Pictures and Hiroyuki Kitakubo (Blood: The Last Vampire, Angel Cop, Robot Carnival) co-created Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin as TV Tokyo and Aniplex's third Anime no Chikara project. Tomohiko Ito (Death Note and Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro assistant director) is directing, and Seishi Minakami (Shigurui: Death Frenzy, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun) is supervising the scripts. The television series will premiere in July.
