Kuruneko Anime Gets 2nd Season with Ringu's Nakatani - Anime News
The official website of the Kuruneko cat anime has announced on Tuesday that 34-year-old actress Miki Nakatani (Ringu, Densha Otoko) will voice all the roles in Kuruneko Season 2. This new season of five-minute anime shorts based on Kuruneko-Yamato's Kuruneko cat manga blog will premiere in Japan on July 3.
The manga revolves around a 30-something commercial designer who is completely devoted to sake and her five cats. The blog attracts 250,000 daily visits, and the five compiled book volumes have sold 800,000 copies. Nakatani is taking over the voice-acting from 45-year-old Satomi Kobayashi, who has been voicing all the roles in the first season since last July. Nakatani will also appear in the second live-action television series based on the Jin historical medical manga and this July's Anpanman anime film.
