Manga U.K. to Release 1st Professor Layton Anime Film - Anime News

The British anime distributor Manga Entertainment has announced on Tuesday that it will release the Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva anime film on both DVD and Blu-ray in September. Manga Entertainment added that so far it has only licensed the first Professor Layton movie, and that it may change the title of the movie for the release.

Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva (Layton Kyoju to Eien no Utahime), an animated movie based on Nintendo and Level5's hit puzzle adventure game series, opened in Japanese theaters at #6 on December 19. Castmembers Yo Oizumi (Brave Story, Howl's Moving Castle) and Maki Horikita (Densha Otoko series, Always: Sunset on Third Street) reprised their respective roles of Layton and Luke in the movie.

Level5 President Akihiro Hino drafted an entirely new story for TOHO's film version of Professor Layton. Hino previously designed all three Professor Layton games.
