Monster Hunter PSP Game Launches with TV Flash Anime - Anime News
Capcom has announced on Tuesday that it will release its new Monster Hunter spinoff game this summer with a Flash-animated tie-in project on Japanese television. MonHun Nikki Pokapoka Airu-mura will ship for the Sony PSP console in Japan on August 26. In the new game, the player takes on the role of a member of the Airu (Felyne), a feline monster species that has been a part of the franchise since the first game. The player joins the other Airu in building their village, and then expanding it.
DLE, the company best known for the Flash-animated Secret Society Eagle Talon television series and films, is producing the tie-in anime for MonHun Nikki Pokapoka Airu-mura. The anime will run on MBS and other broadcast and satellite television stations in Japan. (The anime shorts for Major Minor's Majestic March/Meja-Maji March and other games have premiered in a similar fashion in Japan.) The game's official website will also stream the anime this summer, and there are plans to ship the anime on DVD.
The Monster Hunter team will collaborate with another Japanese brand, Hello Kitty, to promote the new game. Fans can get in-game outfits to dress their Airu character as Hello Kitty. Also as part of the collaboration, Capcom will be holding a drawing for 50 plush Hello Kitty dolls dressed as an Airu, 50 plush Airu dolls dressed as Hello Kitty, and 1,000 original Airu accessory straps.
