Naruto: Dai Katsugeki! Yuki Hime Shinobu Houjou Datte Bayo!! - Anime Review
Information:
Length: 1 Movie
Year: 2004
Genre: Comedy, Action
Synopsis:
Naruto and his team have yet another mission to accomplish. This time he will escort an actress from a famous series of movies about an Unlucky Princess. The actress, off the camera is a really depressed and lonely person. However once in the Snow Country, her past shows a gruesome future for our hero.
Review:
This Movie brings the audience into another world of Naruto unlike the Naruto TV series. We have almost no character development for some characters such as important support character like Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, and etc.
The story concentrate on the snow princess and her past. So I doubt this Movie can stand alone, and you know what? The DVD that I've watched claim that this Naruto Movie can stand alone but I highly doubt so. Thus, I guess this show is meant for those who have already watched the Naruto TV series and know the in's and out's of the characters.
Although there's not much I can say about the Movie since it really leave me speechless but I must compliment its animation quality as well as the fighting scene. The scene where Naruto Launch his Rasengan and sent the enemy flying is really memorable, I use my DVD player "Slow Forward" function a few times ^^
The Snow Princess make me think that she is a "He" in the 1st place but they keep calling and calling "Hime" (Princess) which makes me confused but I just have to give way and make myself believe that she is a "she".
The Story is nice and touching in a way. Not bad overall, but not recommend to those who doesn't know the story of Naruto since this movie can't stand out alone so It'll just make new audience asking more question than watching. Slightly above average anime.
Grade - C (plus) - I thought Naruto setting is back on the ancient times but how on earth do they get a Video Camera and all those Movie making Equipments!? There's an unbalanced time setting there but maybe it was meant to be a joke.
