New Jersey's AnimeNext to Host Stereopony Girl Band - Anime News
The AnimeNext convention has announced that it is hosting the Japanese all-girl rock band Stereopony at the June 18-20 event in Somerset, New Jersey.
The three members of the band had just made their debut on a major label in 2008, and the band's first album, A hydrangea blooms, shipped on last June. The band's debut single "Hitohira no Hanabira" became the ending theme for Bleach, and that led to the band's second single "Namida no Muko" becoming the opening theme of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season. Stereopony has since performed the "Smilife" ending theme for the Yatterman: Shin Yatter Mecha Daishugo! Omocha no Kuni de Daikessen da Koron! film and the "Tsukiakari no Michishirube" opening theme for Darker Than Black: Ryusei no Gemini.
This will be the band's first appearance at an American anime convention.
