NIS America Licenses Toradora! as Its First Anime (Updated) - Anime News
The Toradora! anime adapts Yuyuko Takemiya and Yasu's light novel series of the same name. In this "superdreadnought of love comedies," a high school sophomore named Ryuji Takasu is ostracized because his angry-looking eyes make him look like a troublemaker. Meanwhile, there is a tiny but ferocious girl named Taiga Aisaka who is also shunned — even by her own family — as the "Handheld Tiger." Taiga agrees to help Ryuji get closer to his high school crush, if he helps her get close to her own crush. The 10th and final volume of the light novels shipped last March, and the anime adaptation ran on Japanese television from 2008 to 2009.
