Ocean Waves - Anime Review

Information:

Alternate Title: Umi ga Kikoeru
Studio: Studio Ghibli
Length: 1 Movie
Year: 1993
Genre: Slice of Life, Romance

Review:

Ocean Waves is basically a movie about a guy, Morisaki Taku, thinking back to his high school life. The story starts out as he is on his way back to his hometown for a high school reunion, on the train station platform, he notices a girl, Muto, that he liked back in high school, standing on the opposite platform, from then on the movie is basically a big flashback of his high school ups and downs.

Ocean Waves is one of those animes that'll leave you feeling warm and put a smile on your face by the end. The animation has Studio Ghibli written all over it, and I love that! All the main characters are believable and developed nicely. The plot is great; there aren't really any questions left unanswered by the end and furthermore, most teens can relate to the events in the anime.

Grade: A - The storyline leaves off at a pleasant note that'll guarantee a smile after a long day!
