Review:
This tv series doesn't star YOmiko Readman as the main lead but a trio of sister (Anita, Maggie, Micheal) as the leads, and they have the abality to manipulte paper to varing degress.
The three sisters have stock anime personanalaties, with Anita having a tomboy (bratty) attitude, Micheal is the boobalicious “ditzy” blonde, with Maggie being the tall, shy, introvert quiet member of the group.
This series doesn't suffer from a lack of poor production staff, as everybody that worked on the OVA, worked on this series, which made production of this show easier, then starting with a crew unfirmilar with the characters, and concept.
As the OVA had a kickass soundtrack, this series features good music scenes, with Taku Iwasaki coposing a score that enhances the scenes on the screen.
As the OVA had a hot James Bond like opening theme, the opening theme to the TV series is just as hot as the OVA, with a modified opening, features the new characters of this series, with the James Bond sillohetes of women, with the production's crew name and position written over the sillohetes.
The first eight or so episodes are eposodic in nature, but combined together form the main plot of this show.
The animation for this series was done by J.C Staff while the OVA was done by Studio Deen.
Despite the change in aniamtion studio from this series compared to the OVA, the aniamtion for the series was solid, though despite the original TV version did contain some errors, it was good to learn that the DVD release of the series fixed the errors present in the TV boradcast version.
The backgorunds of this series at times were simple gergous, and looks like the paper sisters really lived in Japan.
Throughout the series, the paper sisters visit the same places that Yomiko visited in the OVA, as it intresting to see how the world the various environments and backgrounds have changed from the OVA, compared to this series.
The main plot of this series doesn't kick into gear until episode thirteen, but most of the cast from the OVA are back in this series.
The music of this series was composed by x how did the soundtrack for the OVA, most of the music is recycled music from the OVA, but it's a class above most anime TV soundtracks.
Despite the OVA version being a fun, querky acion flick, this series is more character based, though when there's action in the tv series, it's cool, intense and exciting.
One thing to keep an eye out as the series progress, is the number of times Anita's fetish for Mr.Froggy apperal appears in this show.
As the OVA featured a piss my pants American president, this series features another piss my pants president in Mr.Cole.
As Nenene (but NuNuNu accoring to Micheal) spends most of the time with the paper sisters in this series, attitude towards the sisters at the start of the series was interesting to watch, as she has a fearless, loud attitude towards the sisters, but changes slowly as the series goes on, so much that the paper sistes become like family to her.
This series also has a good ending, which makes the time invested at the end of the series worth it, as most anime series have poor endings to them.
Rating: A - A goos series that remindes viewers what good anime is about.
