LAWSON convenience stores offers advance tickets with Ponyo water gun.
The LAWSON chain of Japanese convenience store is streaming a television commercial for the advance ticket sales for Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, the latest anime film from Studio Ghibli and director Hayao Miyazaki (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away). The commercial's animation does not come from the film itself, but Miyazaki's longtime composer Joe Hisaishi did create the ad's music. LAWSON is offering advance ticket buyers two exclusive, limited-run items: a small water gun in the shape of the titular goldfish character, Ponyo, or one of two "hankerchi-towels" with Ponyo pattterns.
