Yamaga: New Gainax Work Set in 20th Century Britain - Anime News

Gainax anime studio co-founder and executive director Hiroyuki Yamaga has confirmed at FanimeCon on Saturday that his company is planning two works: the previously announced Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt project and a second, "more refined" work set in Great Britain during the 20th century. Yamaga is currently answering questions during his "History of Gainax" panel at FanimeCon in San Jose, California. (The panel's interpreter inadvertently translated Yamaga's response about the second project's setting as "19th-century England," but Yamaga had actually said "20-seiki Igirisu" or "20th-century Great Britain.")

Gainax had revealed in an April job listing that it is working on a new anime production from May to October, and the job listing indicated that the project is set in Great Britain from 1900 to 1930.
