Yumeiro Pâtissière Shojo Baking Manga Gets Event Anime - Anime News
The July issue of Shueisha's Ribon magazine is announcing on Thursday that an original event anime of Yumeiro Pâtissière will be screened at this summer's "Natsu Doki– Ribon–kko Party 5" event. "Yumeiro Pâtissière Mune Kyun Tropical Island!" will run alongside the previously announced Hiyokoi event anime, which is being animated by Production I.G (Kimi ni Todoke, Sengoku Basara). The "Natsu Doki– Ribon–kko Party 5" event will make stops in Tokyo (July 30), Osaka (August 6), and Nagoya (August 19).
The story of Natsumi Matsumoto's Yumeiro Pâtissière (Dream-Colored Pastry Chef) shojo baking manga centers on a 14-year-old girl named Ichigo Amano. Amano wants to be a pâtissière (female pastry chef), but she is stymied by her own clumsiness. Through a chance encounter, she gets to enroll in St. Marie Academy (a culinary school for sweets). While there, she meets new friends and the "Sweets Spirits."
The original Yumeiro Pâtissière manga debuted in Shueisha's Ribon magazine in 2008, and the sixth compiled book volume is shipping this month. The manga already spawned an ongoing television anime series which premiered in October. The Crunchyroll website has been simulcasting the television series in several countries since November.
Matsumoto previously created the St. Dragon Girl supernatural adventure manga, and Viz Media is publishing the seventh volume of St. Dragon Girl in North America next month.
