Synopsis:

A name of destiny that has been ordained in the past

This series which happens in Paris has a very special feeling to it. A young girl with no memory of her past and Mireille Bouquet, the world's top assassin. Those two women who will ally together to uncover the truth about a ridiculously powerful organization: Soldats.

Anime Review



The best way to describe Noir is that it is very much like an "Impressionistic" painting.



That seems to be the main focus of the anime, as it is very consistant at keeping that initial impression when you watch the first anime.



The anime creates this sad, calm, and serene mood, and continues it's flow throughout the entire series.



The negative side of this is that it ends up creating alot of dull moments, where it's sad, but too calm to be really sad.



Also to maintain such a mood, the story flows slowly, so in the end you are left with quite a bit of boredom. If you are watching this alone when you are hyper or excited, this anime will cool you down in a hurry!



However, Noir does other things well besides the atmosphere. The drawing and music matches extremely well and the animation has been done well. Also, although few and far between, the action scenes are quite entertaining.



It isn't really realistic action, and also it's not those flashy action scenes either. Just like the mood this anime creates, the action is spectacular, but there is no flash and you feel strangely calm.



The storyline is where this anime falls apart a bit. The first episode shows thesse2 female mercenaries meeting each other and one of them has lost her memory. Two of them set off to uncover her past, but this main story often gets sidetracked with unrelated stories.



Half of the episodes are just these 2 mercenaries taking on different jobs, although each of those episodes are related to the main story, but it doesn't really relate whole lot, resulting very slow development in storyline.



Watching Noir is very much like going to museum and stare at a painting! It is pretty much timeless, but it leaves very strong impression within you to think back on it time to time. If you want to enjoy an anime where it will dictate your emotion while watching, this is your anime.If you want typical blockbuster ingredient such as comedy, action, romance, and flashy style, look else where.



Grade: B (plus) - So for the final outcome, this is worth the pickup if you like guns, chicks, and a great story.

First Kara no Kyokai Movie Sees Record Attendance -Anime News

The first (of 7 planned) Kara no Kyokai motion pictures, based on the novel series by author Kinoko Nasu, has reportedly set an attendance record at one of the two theaters screening the picture. Since the movie's opening on December 1, 2007, nearly 20,000 viewers have watched the film at the Theatre Shinjuku, establishing a record number of consecutive days for sell-out screenings at the 40 year old theater.

The first Kara no Kyokai movie is only screened at two theaters in Japan, both located in Tokyo, with a total of only 3 daily screenings, which partially accounts for the standing-room-only attendance at the screenings

The winners of the 53rd Shogakukan Manga Awards have been announced. The annual Shogakukan Manga Awards, sponsored by Shogakukan Publishing, is Japan's longest running and one of its most prestigious manga competitions.

Kurosagi, by writer Takeshi Natsuhara and illustrator Kuromaru, and Sekiya Tetsuji's Bambino! were selected as best general category manga series

The seinen manga Mugen no Juunin (in english its known as: Blade of the Immortal) by Hiroaki Samura is planned for an anime adaptation.
The manga is serialized in the seinen manga magazine Afternoon.
There are currently 22 volumes released of the manga

New MariMite TV Series Announced - Anime News

Although Shueisha's Cobalt Magazine first announced plans for the production of a fourth Maria-sama ga Miteru anime series in July 2007, the official Maria-sama ga Miteru homepage has now announced that the fourth series will be a television series. The first two "MariMite" anime series were broadcast on Japanese television in 2004. The third series was released directly to home video in 2006. Bandai Visual has formally announced plans for a domestic release of the 2004 Harukanaru Toki no Naka de ~Hachiyo Shou~ anime television series under the American title "Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time." The story centers on a middle school boy named Kōichi Hayase who was seriously injured by an apparent accident: the fall of an artificial satellite in 2013. Hayase wakes up half a year later with strange powers. Then, in 2016, a mysterious 21-meter-tall robot named Linebarrel appears before him. Hayase joins Linebarrel's other pilot, Emi Kizaki, in fighting for Juda, the world's largest medical equipment maker which happens to secretly own seven Machina robots like Linebarrel

Itazura na Kiss Anime Adaptation Announced - Anime News

An official website has appeared to announce the April premier of an anime TV series adaptation of the late Kaoru Tada's modern classic shoujo romance manga series Itazura na Kiss. Since its 1990 debut, Itazura na Kiss has been adapted into a 1996 live action Japanese television drama and a 2005 Taiwanese live action drama with a 2007 sequel. Nijū-Mensō no Musume Crime Manga to be Animated -Anime News

The February issue (on sale on January 4) of Monthly Comic Flapper magazine has revealed that an anime television series adaptation of Shinji Ohara's crime manga series Nijyu-Menso no Musume (Daughter of 20-Faces) will debut in April. Ohara's manga is loosely adapted from famed novelist Ranpo Edogawa's Kaijin Nijyu-Menso (Fiend with 20 Faces) series of novels. (Despite the literal title of Ohara's manga, the protagonist of Nijyu-Menso no Musume is not actually the daughter of Edogawa's "Fiend.")
